What is a CPA?
The acronym CPA stands for Certified Public Accountant. To become a CPA you must pass a state exam, earn a license, and commit to follow a code of ethics.
The key difference between an accountant and a CPA is that an accountant earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting while a CPA earned the degree and then continued to evolve their expertise by earning a CPA license through a combination of education, experience, and examination.
